Job Application - Line Chef

We’re seeking a line chef to join the team at Alice’s Restaurant, one of the most celebrated dining destinations in Morris County. You will learn under the guidance of classically French-trained head chef Frances Schoen, who has been working in some of the area’s top kitchens for more than 20 years.

Compensation & Benefits

In addition to hands-on training under Chef Frances, Alice’s offers:

• Compensation starting at $20/hour
• Health benefits eligible after 6 months of employment

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
• Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, etc...
• Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance
• Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to requests and on time
• Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
• Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations

Skills and Qualifications:

• At least one year of cooking experience
• Excellent kitchen administration knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
• Strong organization and active listening skills
• The ability to work on your feet for 10-12 hours a day and lift 30 pounds at a time
• Exceptional time management skills
