The bartender position is a key position in the restaurant. They must have a vast knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits as well as an outgoing personality. Bartenders are responsible for counting the drawer before and after the shift, handling cash and closing out checks. Most importantly they work for the house, including the “proper pour” for drinks adhering to the house policy of complimentary drinks and minimizing waste. They are generally the first impression that a customer makes of the establishment when they come in.
General Job Description:
- Bartenders report to the Manager on duty. Bartenders are in charge of the entire bar area, including high-top tables, making sure:
- Arrive to work on time and ready to work
- Bar and high tops are clean and ready for guests
- Bartender is highly knowledgeable of cocktails, wines, beers, menu items, and specials.
- Drinks and food orders are delivered in timely and accurate fashion
- Orders are correctly and accurately documented and sent to kitchen with any modifications that are needed
- Food and utensils are delivered to the correct seat number accurately and on time
- Empty glasses and dishes are bussed quickly
- Keep bar stocked, cleaned and maintained during guest stay
- Bar is stocked with enough service items throughout shift
- Communicate with bar back, servers, runners and at all times
- Sell what customers will like
- Exude total confidence in Windlass products, procedures and corporate policies in place

The Windlass Pizza Chef is expected to make delicious pizzas based on both traditional and modern recipes. Pizza Chef responsibilities include preparing pizza dough, slicing and chopping toppings like vegetables and meats and executing customers’ orders considering special requests. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with various pizza types and be available to work during business hours. Must have ability to lift 50+lbs, endure standing for long periods of time, work in a fast-paced environment, and multi-task. - Keep host station organized, clean and maintained at all times
- Field emergency calls to your colleagues on duty
- Hosts are often quite literally the first person a customer will come into contact with either in person or by phone. Just like a host of a party, a Windlass host must greet guests as if we have been waiting for them to arrive all day long. Kind, professional and immediate recognition of customers entering our door is a must.
- Hosts must know the menu, daily specials, general restaurant information, table sections, dining room stations, and fellow FOH employees on duty

The main responsibility for this position is to deliver food to guests in a friendly, professional & knowledgeable manner. Food Runners eliminate a lot of stress and discord by communicating information between the kitchen or Expo and servers, and delivering food orders promptly.

- Help prepare the expo station for service through cleaning, stocking, and other tasks
- Assist with cleaning and resetting tables, ensure tables are level, wipe down chairs, keep floors clean
- Clean and stock designated kitchen and server stations
- Knowledge of all the ingredient details of every dish on the menu
- Knowing table numbers, seat numbers and service stations
- Follow all instructions from expeditor
- Garnish and prepare dishes for presentation as needed
- Promptly deliver each course as it is prepared to the correct table and in seat order
- Communicate clearly any additional orders or needs the guests may have to server or expeditor
- Remove dirty dishes, glasses and silverware from tables and take them to the kitchen
